Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno is one of the biggest, and certainly one of the most interesting and stunning cemeteries in all of Europe, located in Genoa, Italy. Despite the fact that many graves focus on christian religions, there are quite a number of graves which shift from a sense of divine light, to pure sadness and death, in other words, the real reality of dying. Depending on how the person being remembered viewed the world, their personal grave art piece or pieces might reflect just that. Perhaps if a person died in tragic circumstances, their grave would surly be laced with tragic, yet beautiful art. When viewing some of these statues, one must appreciate the fine classic art of carving with stone and marble, and the cryptogenic sense of mystery each emulates. After all, some of these representations of human emotion and the human flesh, are far more alluring then the rotting pile of a person which was once placed beneath.
